Jonny DeLuca and pinch-hitter Ben Williamson each delivered a run in the 12th inning, lifting the Tampa Bay Rays to a 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night at Tropicana Field. The victory pushed the best-of-seven World Series to a fifth game.

Cooper Pratt put Milwaukee ahead in the top of the 12th, driving a slider from Ian Seymour over the left-field wall. It was the 22-year-old rookie's fourth hit of the game and his second go-ahead hit in the Series. David Hamilton also homered for the Brewers, and Jackson Chourio went 2 for 4 to reach 10 for 20 in the matchup.

The Rays' response started with an error. Junior Caminero led off the bottom of the 12th with a grounder to third, and Joey Ortiz's throw went past first baseman Jake Bauers. Liam Hicks then singled off reliever Shane Drohan, who was making his first appearance since Oct. 15, and DeLuca lined a single to center to bring home pinch-runner Cedric Mullins and tie it at 3. Chandler Simpson followed with a single to load the bases, prompting Milwaukee to bring its infield in with five defenders on the dirt. Williamson, who entered the at-bat 1 for 15 in the postseason, chopped a ball over Bauers into right field to end it.

That swing ended several Milwaukee runs. The Brewers had won eight straight games and were attempting to become just the second club to sweep both a League Championship Series and the World Series. Tampa Bay also became the fourth team in Series history to force another game with an extra-inning comeback while facing elimination, according to OptaSTATS. The 1912 Red Sox, 1986 Mets and 2011 Cardinals did it before, and all three went on to win the title.

The Rays are now the fifth of 26 teams to win Game 4 after falling behind 3-0 in a World Series. The previous four all lost the next game. Across all best-of-seven postseason rounds, 43 teams have trailed 3-0, and the 2004 Boston Red Sox against the New York Yankees remains the only one to come back and win the series.

Caminero left the game after reaching first in the 12th, replaced at third base by Mullins as he dealt with a sore left foot. Manager Kevin Cash said the All-Star will start Game 5. "He'll play tomorrow on one leg. I'll make sure of it," Cash said.

Milwaukee will send NL Cy Young Award favorite Jacob Misiorowski to the mound on Wednesday night, while Cash had not named a starter. The announced attendance Tuesday was 40,514, and Caminero said after the game he plans to play.
