Yeovil Town defeated Hornchurch 2-1 on Tuesday night to recover from their previous defeat.

The visitors secured their position in fourth place in the National League table following the result. Zain Westbrooke opened the scoring in the 72nd minute, and James Daly added a second goal with 12 minutes remaining in the match.

Charlie Pegrum scored for the home side to narrow the gap, but Yeovil maintained their lead until the final whistle. The win came just two days after the team lost a 2-1 home match against Altrincham on Saturday.

Manager Billy Rowley altered his starting lineup by replacing six players for the trip to Hornchurch. He attributed the changes to the short turnaround between the two competitive fixtures. Rowley noted that the squad had experienced two six-goal victories in league play recently, which made it difficult to remove high-performing players from the starting eleven.

Speaking to BBC Somerset, Rowley described the performance as excellent. He acknowledged that travel delays left the team with limited preparation time, but the players delivered a strong result. Rowley specifically praised Westbrooke for his finishing quality and touch inside the penalty area.

The manager also commended Daly, who entered the game as a substitute. Rowley described Daly's goal as a world-class finish and noted that the player performed exceptionally well in a deeper role, running behind the defense to connect with the pass.

Seb Naylor, a loanee from Bristol City, made his debut in the match. Rowley highlighted Naylor's positional understanding and technical ability, noting that the young player received strong foundations at Manchester City before joining the club on loan.
