Two Walt Disney World shows scheduled for this November have been swapped out for a different lineup. John Stamos and the California Sound will take the stage at EPCOT’s Eat to the Beat Concert Series on Nov. 11 and 12. This replaces the Beach Boys, who are currently sidelined.

The change appears on the event’s website. The California Sound is expected to include the touring members of the Beach Boys, excluding Mike Love. Stamos, 63, has worked with the group on and off for four decades.

Mike Love, 85, is the only original member still on the road. He faces ongoing health challenges. Stamos confirmed these issues in an Oct. 11 Instagram post. He described Love as a fighter but noted that doctors urged him to focus on his health. Love has insisted on staying on stage.

The band’s recent schedule has been disrupted by Love’s condition. In late September, the group canceled several dates just before resuming their Endless Summer Gold Tour. The Univest Performance Center in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, and the Alabama Theatre in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, cited circumstances beyond their control. This came after a two-month break from performing.

Love stepped back from the tour in July. He postponed nearly 30 summer shows that were set between July 23 and Sept. 3. In June, he shared that the death of his sister Maureen and his recovery from bronchitis and COVID-19 took an emotional and physical toll. He wrote that he felt stronger physically but heartbroken emotionally.

Stamos addressed the situation directly in his statement. He said he had played with Love for 41 years. He noted that the version of Love on stage now may differ from the past, but he remains the same person. The Eat to the Beat series also features acts like Boyz II Men and Grace Potter. Representatives for both the Beach Boys and Stamos have been contacted for comment.
