The Houston Rockets remained undefeated after a commanding 132-100 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night.

Fred VanVleet scored 24 points while Amen Thompson added 23 in a game that showcased Houston's offensive efficiency. The team shot 54.8% from the field and converted 23 of 26 free-throw attempts. Kevin Durant contributed 18 points, and Bogdan Bogdanovic added 16 in just 15 minutes.

VanVleet, who missed the entire previous season due to a torn ACL, made 7 of 14 shots including 4 of 9 from deep. He hit three free throws midway through the third quarter to put the Rockets up 81-61 after scoring 15 consecutive points.

Houston controlled the game early, outscoring the Bucks 34-14 in the second quarter to lead 57-35 at the half. Clint Capela extended the lead with a tip-in that made the score 49-30. The Rockets took the first eight points of that period to pull ahead 31-21.

The Bucks struggled from beyond the arc, hitting only 4 of 24 three-pointers in the first half. They also made their only free-throw attempt during that span. Tyler Herro scored 23 points and Jaime Jaquez Jr. added 19 for Milwaukee, which fell to 1-4.

Alperen Sengun, who averages 24.5 points per game, sat out with a sore low back. Steven Adams missed the game with a right calf strain, and guard Marcus Smart missed his third straight game with a left forearm strain. The Rockets will visit Dallas on Friday for NBA Cup play, while the Bucks host Cleveland on Saturday.
