The Philadelphia Eagles fell to 2-5 after losing to the Dallas Cowboys 38-21 on Monday night. The defeat marked the fifth consecutive loss for Philadelphia, extending a winless streak to its longest run since 2016.

Dak Prescott led the Cowboys to a 3-4 record with a performance that includes 212 passing yards and three touchdown passes. He connected with CeeDee Lamb for two of those scores. Javonte Williams added a ground attack that reached 155 yards, a career high for the running back, along with a touchdown.

The Eagles are now 3-6 without starting quarterback Jalen Hurts, who has served as the starter since 2021. Hurts is expected to miss the remainder of the season due to blood clots in his lungs. Backup quarterback Tanner McKee started in his place, completing 23 of 35 passes for 211 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

Coach Nick Sirianni has been the primary voice on Hurts' condition. The Eagles have allowed at least 375 total yards in each game of their current losing streak. In Monday's contest, the defense gave up 416 yards and 25 first downs. The average gain per play for the Cowboys was 6.4 yards.

Dallas took control late in the third quarter. CeeDee Lamb caught a 16-yard pass from Prescott in the corner of the end zone. Prescott then ran in the two-point conversion to make the score 28-21. Brandon Aubrey later kicked a 24-yard field goal to extend the lead to 31-21.

Javonte Williams finished the scoring with a two-yard touchdown run. It was the first 150-yard rushing game for a Dallas player since Ezekiel Elliott in 2018. The Cowboys finished with 204 total yards on the ground.

The Eagles did find the end zone once in the third quarter. McKee completed a 4-yard pass to rookie Makai Lemon for a touchdown, giving Philadelphia a 21-20 lead. The team ran nearly 10 minutes off the clock on that drive but did not score again.

Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown returned from a hamstring injury in Week 1 to seal the victory. He intercepted a McKee pass late in the fourth quarter. Overshown said the team believes the division race is still open. Dallas now holds two wins against division opponents, matching the New York Giants, who lead the NFC East with a 4-2-1 record.

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame during the game. He purchased the franchise on May 6, 1994. Under his ownership, the team has won two Super Bowls and appeared in four since 2004. Lurie gave a brief speech at halftime but did not hold a pregame news conference. He was flanked by Hall of Famers Brian Dawkins and Donovan McNabb.

Saquon Barkley returned to the Eagles lineup after missing more than two games with a hamstring injury. He rushed for 62 yards on seven carries but spent time on the sideline receiving treatment for both his hamstring and his back. The Eagles also played without wide receiver DeVonta Smith.
